Auden Theatre is a part of Gresham’s School which is a registered charity (registered in England and Wales 1105500).
This privacy notice provides detailed information about how we process your personal data. Types of personal data that we process
We process your personal data about so that we may provide you with tickets, news and information about events held at the Auden Theatre, Gresham’s School and the Holt community. We have a legitimate interest in the data to be able to carry out these functions however where this is not the case we may seek consent for its use.
The information we hold about you may include:
- Your name
- Postal address
- Telephone numbers
- Email address
- Ticketing history
We maintain a record of your transaction history, but we never store payment card numbers. We keep a record of the emails that you send to us, and we may also track whether you open emails we send to you so that we can ensure that we are sending you relevant information.
Collecting, handling and sharing personal data
The data that we use is collected directly from you and is used to provide you with tickets to events or keep you informed. To enable us to carry out these functions, we use systems that are provided by third parties; ticketing and box office software, email portal service. These are subject to contractual assurances that personal data will be kept securely and only in accordance with our specific directions.
How do we use your data
The information that we hold alongside your purchase history is used to:
- Provide you with the event tickets or respond to the information that you have requested
- Contact you if there are important changes to your booking
- Administer your ticket sales
- Ensure we know how you preferred to be contacted
- Tell you about changes in our services, new events, offers and opportunities.
If you are a member you can change your contact preferences by logging into your account on the Auden Theatre website, you can also unsubscribe from emails by clicking on the unsubscribe link on the footer of the email we send. You can also unsubscribe or make changes to how we contact you by contacting the Auden Theatre box office.
You have various rights under Data Protection Law to access and understand the data we hold about you, and can ask for it to be erased or amended or for us to stop processing it. If you would like to access, or amend your personal data or have some objection on how you data is being used, please make your request to the School’s Data Compliance Manager.
We will to respond to any such written requests as soon as is reasonably practicable and in any event within statutory time-limits, which is one month in the case of requests for access to information. We will be better able to respond quickly to smaller, targeted requests for information. If the request is manifestly excessive or similar to previous requests, we may ask you to reconsider or charge a proportionate fee, but only where Data Protection Law allows it.
Terms and Conditions
By accepting your order a legally binding contract is created between The Auden Theatre and you. This contract shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with English law, and the English courts shall have jurisdiction to resolve any disputes. By placing your order you warrant that all details you provide to us for the purpose of booking, ordering or purchasing goods or services are correct, that the credit or debit card you are using is your own and that there are sufficient funds to cover the cost of the ticket or service. If there are any changes to the details supplied by you it is your responsibility to inform us.
Tickets are sold by The Auden Theatre on behalf of producers, promoters and third party event organizers.
All tickets are subject to availability.
It is a condition of sale in respect of all tickets that a ticket is only valid for admission to the performance it was booked for if at no time it has been sold or exchanged at a price or value that is more than the price paid for it at the The Auden Theatre Box Office. Any ticket which has been at any time sold in contravention of this condition is void and will not admit the holder to the performance.
The Auden Theatre staff are authorised to refuse admission to the theatre and reserve the right to do so if in their absolute judgment your conduct is such that it is likely to disrupt or disturb other persons attending the theatre. The Auden Theatre also reserves the right to terminate your permission to be on the premises and remove you therefrom in similar circumstances.
Every member of the audience must be in possession of a valid ticket. Altered or defaced tickets will not be valid.
Confirmation of receipt of your order by e-mail, does not guarantee the ticket sale (internet sales only).
Please check your tickets as mistakes cannot always be rectified. The Auden Theatre reserves the right to alter or vary the performance / event due to events or circumstances beyond The Auden Theatre’s control without being obliged to refund monies or change tickets. This does not affect your statutory rights.
The venue retains £1 from every ticket purchased which contributes to the cost of administration, online booking facility and ticket production. Tickets cannot be refunded once purchased. Exchange of tickets for a performances within a run is available (7 days notice required). Re-sales for shows that are sold out may be considered. To exchange or resell tickets, the originals must be returned to the Box Office. Either service may be subject to a handling charge of £2 per ticket.
Possession of a valid ticket authorises admission of the holder to the auditorium immediately before the performance begins but once the performance has begun the following applies. To avoid disturbing the audience and performers, latecomers will not be allowed access to the auditorium until a suitable point in the performance designated by the company, which may not be until the interval.
The use of mobile phones, the making of recordings and photography, with or without flash, is strictly forbidden.
Smoking is not permitted at The Auden Theatre or anywhere on Gresham’s School. Campus. For some events at the discretion of the company, there may be a designated smoking area.
Any complaints regarding the show or view from the seats should be made to the Duty House Manager promptly, prior to or during the performance.
For certain shows, babies and children under 3 are welcome and may share a seat with you. The majority of our shows do not qualify for this option, and for these events we regret children under 3 are not admitted to the auditorium. Please contact the Box Office for further clarification or information.
Whilst every effort is made to ensure that all promotional information supplied is accurate, you are advised to take appropriate precautions to verify such information. The Auden Theatre expressly disclaims all liability for any direct, indirect or consequential loss or damage occasioned by the user’s reliance on any statements, information or advice contained in The Auden Theatre print, on the website or any other promotional material generated by the organisation.
