COVID 19 update – 2/4/20

We would like to reassure you that we are monitoring the COVID-19 situation closely. Your health and the health of our staff, volunteers and performers are of the upmost importance to us.
The Auden Theatre is currently closed. Events until the end of August have been rescheduled or cancelled. You don’t need to do anything; please rest assured that we have already begun the process of contacting our ticket-holding customers to arrange refunds and, wherever possible, credit vouchers for future events.  Accepting your refund in the form of a credit voucher would be an enormous help to us in these very uncertain times.  Some customers are going so far as to donate the cost of cancelled tickets back, to show their support of the Theatre. Amazing – thank you!  We realise that not everyone is in a position to donate, please understand that your support as a future customer means the world to us.

We are monitoring and reassessing the ever-changing situation closely and will update this notice as needed. If you would like to receive updates on future events please sign up to the Auden email bulletin here.

The Box Office is currently operating an email and remote telephone service only. Please email any questions to or leave a message on (01263) 713444. During this uncertain time, the Box Office will continue to provide this service throughout the Gresham’s School Easter break, endeavouring to reply to queries within three working days.
We greatly appreciate your support and understanding over this testing time and look forward to welcoming you back to the Auden in the future.

About The Auden Theatre

The Auden Theatre is an essential hub for the North Norfolk arts circuit.

Located in the heart of Gresham’s Senior School grounds, the theatre offers a unique, intimate and versatile space for both school shows and professional performances in a modern and purpose-built facility.

A fully-equipped and professionally-run venue, the Theatre hosts a diverse and expansive programme of productions throughout the year, and serves as an important local outlet for visiting artists. It is also one of the main venues for the Holt Festival held every July.

The scope and range of productions are truly remarkable, and we regularly host a broad collection of performers from local musical groups to international musicians and theatre companies. Our student-led productions also prove extremely popular, with sizeable and ambitious performances consistently drawing large audiences from the local community.
